There’s a unique feeling that comes with sitting down for a meal in our corner of Connecticut. Maybe it's that sense of shared history and "Valleyness" that’s better felt than defined. This week, that feeling is being celebrated across five of our towns as Valley Restaurant Week officially kicks off.
The Details
From April 24th through Saturday, May 2nd, more than 20 restaurants across Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Oxford, and Seymour are teaming up to showcase the best of the Valley’s culinary scene. Whether you are a longtime local or a newcomer just settling in, it is the perfect time to discover a new favorite coffee shop or revisit a classic hometown spot.
This event is more than just discounted meals; it’s a celebration of our local entrepreneurs. As Michael Ferreira, founder of It’s Restaurant Week, noted, these eateries are a "win-win" for the community, helping neighbors experience high-quality offerings at a great price while supporting the businesses that make our towns vibrant.
The event is a collaborative effort between Ferreira and the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce. As Bill Purcell, President of the Chamber, shared, our restaurant scene is growing, and this week is the perfect way to "celebrate and support these fine eateries".
How to Participate
Explore: Visit any of the 23 participating restaurants (see full list below).
Enjoy: Look for fixed-price menus, special limited-time dishes, and unique deals designed just for this week.
Win: While you enjoy your meal, you can enter to win one of five prize packages totaling more than $1,100 in gift certificates. Simply take a photo of your receipt and submit it through the official entry form.
Tax and gratuity are typically not included in the menus. Some are for “Dine-In” or “Take-Out” only and some are “Dine-In” & “Take-Out“. Check the list on the website. Regular menus will still be available.
As Mikey Cotela of Munch Eatery in Ansonia put it, participating in events like this is about being part of "everything that celebrates or showcases the Valley".
So, this week, let’s skip the "comment section battles" and instead meet our neighbors over a great meal. Let’s celebrate the local gems that tie us together.
